
Julie Ellen "Tawny", Kitaen, was an American model, actress and media persona. She was born on May 7, 1961, until May 7 2021. Her television acting career began with Malibu (1983) and California Girls (1985). She also played Gwendoline, a comedy character in the Land of the Yik-Yak (both 1984) as well as Bachelor Party (1985). Kitaen was famous for her performance in heavy metal music videos like Ratt's "Back for More", Whitesnake "Still of the Night" and "Is This love" (all 1987). Kitaen also appeared on reality television shows like Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew (2008) and The Surreal Life (2006) in which Kitaen was portrayed as struggling with addiction to drugs. Kitaen was born Julie Kitaen in San Diego, California in 1961, the eldest of three children born to Linda Kitaen (nee Taylor) she was a housewife, and once a beauty pageant contestant, and Terry Kitaen, an employee of a company that makes neon signs. Kitaen was the daughter of a Russian-Jewish father as well as an Scottish mother. Kitaen was born Jewish. Kitaen was first introduced to the name "Tawny" at the age of 12 years old, on her own initiative. As a child she was diagnosed with dyslexia, which eventually led her dropping out of Mission Bay High School. She was 14 when she went to see Penny Frampton perform in Balboa Stadium. [9]
